What you need to know about Hong Kong as a first time visitor?
Basic:
1. If you are going in spring or summer (April to September), an umbrella is important. In winter (November to February), the temperature can drop suddenly to less than 10 celsius degree due to cold current.
2. You cannot drink from the tap water.
3. Cantonese is commonly spoken. But if you speak in Putonghua or English, people may be able to understand.
4. Power: 220V, 50V, electric plug as shown below:

5. Handphone used in: GSM 900/1800, 3G 2100
6. Shops usually close at 10pm. But eating houses are closed at quite late after mid-night
7. There are many churches (protestants or catholics) in Hong Kong. With respect to the protestant churches, the majority of churches are chinese-speaking., and the style is more traditional.
