Malaysia Beaches

As you may realise, Malaysia has many beaches because of its uniquegeographical conditions (by being both a Peninsular and part of BorneoIsland).

Malaysia beaches differ considerably in terms of sand and soil conditions, and the types of vegetation and wildlife present.

Beaches in the West Coast of Malaysia are nice.
The sand conditions tend to be a mixture of grainy, dark sand or pebbly sand or both.
Beaches on the West Coast offers many water activities such as
boating, jet-skiing and banana-boat riding, which may not be available in the East Coast.
The beaches on the West Coast looks out to the Malacca Straits,
which makes the waters much calmer and safer to swim in compared to the East Coast beaches.

Beaches in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia are by far the most beautiful beaches in Malaysia.
The sand conditions are powdery and soft.
Some of the more secluded beaches are VERY secluded,
which means you would meet very few or no other tourists around.
The beaches on the East Coast looks out to the South China Sea,resulting in rougher sea conditions and some areas may not be suitable for swimming. These beaches are accessible by travelling along the East Coast highway, crossing the states of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan.

Beaches in East Malaysia (Borneo) are quite similar to the ones in West Coast Malaysia.
The sand conditions tend to be a mixture of grainy, dark sand or pebbly sand or both.
Some of the nicer Malaysia beaches (powdery, soft sand) can be found in the state of Sabah and certain areas in Sarawak.
Be on the look-out for unique and interesting flora and fauna (crocodiles, etc) if you visit Borneo's beaches.
